Gotse Delchev tourist info and hotels

The Gotse Delchev is situated in the southwest part of Bulgaria municipality comprises an area of 315.8 square kilometers.
The town is located in the Gotse Delchev Hollow, at the south-west foot of the Middle Pirin Mountain, on the banks of the Nevrokopska River (also known as Gradska River).
The Goce Delchev Hollow area was inhabited since prehistoric age due to their favorable climate conditions. There are many remains from the Stone Age, from the Thracians, from the Roman rule and later antiquity, as well as from the Slavonic tribe Smolyani. The region of Gotse Delchev was annexed to the Bulgarian country in 837 AD.

The Gotse Delchev region offers numerous kinds of places for the nature lovers. The natural sight Chinarbey, which is an impressive some five hundred years old plane-tree, 24 meters long, located near the bank of the Delchevska River. The fishpond by the Mesta River few kilometers northeast offers great attractions and has a specialized fish-restaurant.

Momina Klisoura - a picturesque, twenty-five kilometers long defile of the Mesta River is located on the municipality’s territory. Momina Klisoura join the Gotse Delchev Hollow with the Razlog Hollow and divides the magnificent Pirin Mountain from the Western Rhodopes Mountain. The Orelyak reserve (758.1 ha), popular for its old beech forests, is one of the most interesting part of National Park Pirin. The Popovi Livadi area, which is a climatic mountain resort at 1430 meters elevation, is a good starting point for Orelyak. The International Tourist Route E4 (Pyrenees - Peloponnese) also goes through this beautiful region. Some popular tours from Gotse Delchev include trips to the renowned international tourist center and famous ski resort of Bansko (32 km); the Pirin Chalet (61 km), the incredible Rozhen Monastery (79 km) and the cultural and historical reserve town of Melnik (80 km).
